Changes are coming... again by Jeffrey Gacad

Hello everyone! Well, I've found that trying to get noticed in photography is super difficult. I figured by now, I'd have a decent following, sold o bunch of prints/images and upgraded some of my gear. None of that has happened unfortunately. I guess I just really don't know the best ways to get exposure. Because of that, I'm going to make some changes. As far as this website goes, I'm going to pair down the genres of images I'm going to display or specialize in. Those will include Landscape, Long Exposure, Wildlife/Nature, Astrophotography and Surfing. I may tweak those a bit, but those are what I'm best at and what I'm best at in my opinion. I will continue to shoot other things, but those will only posted on my social media. I will continue to offer prints for sale as well as being available for hire for specific shoots. So, here is where you can find my work:

Website (Yay, you found me!)

Facebook Group: (pretty much everything I shoot will end up here)

Facebook Page: I still operate the Stingray Aviation Imaging page, so if you like planes, head over there!

Instagram: My main account will be a more curated version of my Facebook group. I also will continue with my Stingray Aviation Imaging account. Finally, I will be starting up Stingray Surf Imaging leading up to some of the big Southern California surfing contests, so be on the lookout!

Please check out/follow/join my pages for the most updated images.

For those of you have been supporting what I'm doing, thank you, especially those who have been there since the beginning. More great things are coming.

It's been a while... by Jeffrey Gacad

Just thought I’d let you guys know what I’ve been up to…

Recent Photography:

I’ve had the chance to take some cool photos in the snow atop Mt. San Jacinto in the snow and Joshua Tree flowers all in the same day. Plus I did some night shots in Joshua Tree that same trip. I also got to sneak in a second Joshua Tree trip. Probably the highlight though was a day in Lake Elsinore for the poppy super bloom! I manage to get there before all hell broke loose and the city actually shut the area down for a bit the week after I was there. It was getting out of hand and people were really starting to trash the place. Apparently “Leave It Better Than You Found It” is not a quote most people follow. Photos from these and some others will be coming soon.

Upcoming Photography:

I’ll be doing at least one more Joshua Tree trip next weekend, and possibly one more this spring. I’ll mostly be doing night stuff, but I’ll probably be out a bit during the day trying to catch some critters and spring blooms. My most exciting trip will be in June. I’ll be in Europe for a cruise and will be visiting Spain, France and Italy. I’ll also be doing a few extra days in Barcelona. I’m not really sure what I’ll be trying to shoot as of yet, but I’m sure I’ll get some cool stuff!!!

Website Changes:

I’m sure you may have noticed a few aesthetic changes to the website. It visually looks better to me and I feel like the font changes make it look a bit more professional. Let me know what you think. I’ll probably be making other tweaks along the way as it continuously evolves. *Some of the changes are just for the desktop/tablet versions. I may carry them over to the mobile platform as well, but I’m not sure yet.

Prints/Commissions/Etc.:

I am going to change up some of the prints that will be available for sale. If you have any interest in anything I current have up, you have until the first week of May and then I’ll be changing them up. I am also going to come up with commission pricing. If there is something you’d like a specific/exclusive photo of, let me know at stingrayphotoimaging@gmail.com. Finally, at some point, I’ll come up with some kind of digital images for purchase. These could be for computer wallpaper, phone wallpaper, Google Home Hub/Chrome Cast slide shows etc. I need to do a little more research, but some people have expressed interest.

Sorry this was a little long, but things have been happening and I just wanted to update everyone. Thanks to everybody for your continued support!!!!

New Print Pricing!!! by Jeffrey Gacad

Ok, I am now making some changes to purchasing various types of prints.

First of all, I will be releasing the first batch of images that will be available very soon!!  Secondly, I am eliminating wood prints,  acrylic blocks and acrylic/metal combo prints.  Also, I won't be publishing prices for acrylic prints,  but, they will be available by request.  Finally,  I may add a page on here with prices as well.  The current level I have doesn't allow point of sale, but I can upgrade my site to be able to set that up if I find it's worth the extra cost.

Anyway,  here are my adjusted prices:

  Prints for Framing:

8×10 - $25

11×14 - $32

12×18 - $40

16×20 - $58

Metal Prints:

5×7 (stand) - $25

8×10 (wall) - $50

11×14 (wall) - $70

16×20 (wall) - $110

 Canvas Prints:

8×12 - $45

11×14 - $55

12×18 - $70

16×20 - $90

 Standout (3/4" wide):

8×10 - $35

11×14 - $45

16×20 - $75

Other sizes will be available upon request and the numbers available are limited.

Change in Prints for Sale by Jeffrey Gacad

Well, the whole idea of letting people have the option to choose whatever they’d like to purchase prints of was an overall failure. So, there are some changes that I am making to this.

  1. I will be rolling out select prints that will be available. Those will change periodically.

  2. I used to have a limit to ten prints of any style per image. I will change this to 25 of traditional, frame-able prints and 10 of each other style (canvas, metal, acrylic, etc.) . That way, I can still have them be limited, but have more flexibility in style.

  3. Specialty, one-off prints will still be available on a custom order basis.

  4. Certain images will not be available to be purchased as prints. Those include photos of surfers and animals at zoos/aquariums. As far as the surfers go, I am not sure about how it works with selling an image of someone without their permission. Maybe as time goes by and form relationships with some things may change. Also, most zoos and aquariums prohibit you from selling images taken from within the facility without their approval.

  5. Commissioned photos will still be available. I can take specific photos for you and you can choose to just take the digital versions and/or purchase prints of those.

  6. Digital images may be coming down the road. I’m not quite sure yet how I will do that and how I can protect them. Stay tuned.

I may update pricing later, but I’ll keep the current pricing for now. I will probably adjust traditional print sizes and keep some sizes on hand.

As always, if you are interested in purchasing any prints, please email me at stingrayphotoimaging@gmail.com

Quick Update: Website Changes by Jeffrey Gacad

I just wanted to give a quick update.  I am making some minor changes to the website because of some issues I found while trying to make some other changes.  While being relatively minor,  I do want to get your opinions on how the changes look to you.

On another note,  I'm messing with as change of layouts to coincide with the 1 year anniversary of the website on the Squarespace platform.  Once I figure it out and make it live in February,  I'll definitely want opinions on how it looks.

Thanks everyone for your continued support!! 😊📷
